Basic Life Skills (BLS) courses are designed to train students to recognize and respond to emergency situations where seconds count and quick intervention can save lives. The course covers how to perform effective chest compressions, become proficient in the use of AED, and learn when to administer ventilations to an individual who has stopped breathing.
Certified by the American Heart Association, the BLS certification course offered through LA Skills Academy follows all AHA guidelines for high-quality CPR and ECC skills and students who participate in these training courses gain the proficiency and confidence to render immediate assistance for cardiovascular life support.
Ideal for aspiring healthcare professionals and current healthcare providers who require BLS recertification, LA Skills Academy courses provide students with a wide-ranging curriculum that incorporates classroom lectures with in-scenario experience to successfully respond to dangerous, life threatening emergencies.
Basic Life Support Certification Training
Increasing the chances of survival in a medical emergency and ensuring more positive patient outcomes are the emphasis of our BLS classes. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a completion certificate that is valid for two years.
The coursework covers all of the essential elements necessary for recognizing an emergency situation and successfully providing life-saving care at the most critical moment. These are the many skills that BLS certification training offers:
-
AHA Chain of Survival: Early intervention is critical for saving a life and understanding the four important components, early access, early CPR, early defibrillation, early ACLS, increase the odds of survival for the victim.
-
High-quality CPR: Learn best practices for administering life-saving CPR to adults, children, and infants for successful outcomes.
-
Ventilation Training: Students are trained in the use of barrier devices to prevent the spread of infection when administering CPR and removing airway blockages to rescue adults and infants from choking.
-
AED Training: Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator is critical for restoring heart rhythm and students are trained in the correct operation and functionality of the equipment and when to incorporate the device as life support.
-
Teamwork: Learning how to work as part of a team of responders in providing basic life support to one or multiple victims.
Why Enroll in BLS Certification Training with LA Skills Academy?
Whether you hope to pursue a career in the medical field, you want to brush up on your skills, or you simply want to be prepared to intervene in the case of an urgent medical situation, earning your BLS certificate with LA Skills Academy can give you the training and expertise necessary for success.
Having the knowledge to be an effective factor in a life-threatening situation can give you the confidence to step in when others around you may be reluctant to help. Most people will hesitate when they witness someone experiencing a medical emergency not because they are disinterested in offering assistance but because they are afraid of making a difficult situation even worse. As a result, the victim's condition worsens and the chances for survival are reduced.
But enrolling in a BLS training program lets you work with expert instructors who guide you through the course with hands-on training and AHA certified training materials that teach you when to recognize someone is experiencing a medical emergency and how to provide the appropriate efficient care to save the victim's life at the earliest critical juncture.

Earning your BLS certification demonstrates to employers that you have taken a vested interest in honing your skills and that commitment to improving your knowledge is a powerful advantage in a competitive job market.
