Los Angeles Skills Academy CNA Training: Chino

What is a CNA?
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a vital part of the healthcare team, assisting patients with daily living activities and medical needs under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). These professionals may also be referred to as Nursing Assistants, Patient Care Assistants (PCA), or Nurse’s Aides.
Many Chino residents begin their healthcare journey as CNAs, using the experience as a launchpad toward becoming an LVN or RN. Some CNAs are actively enrolled in nursing programs, gaining hands-on experience to complement their studies. Others see the role as an opportunity to determine if nursing is the right career path before advancing further.
As a CNA, you will provide essential care while developing key skills that are always in demand. Our training program, shaped by input from healthcare experts and educators, is designed to help you successfully begin your career in the healthcare industry.
Certified Nursing Assistant Program:
What is CNA Training?
LA Skills Academy’s Nurse Assistant Training (NAT) program is fully accredited by the California Department of Public Health and provides a well-rounded approach to CNA training. The program consists of 60 hours of theoretical instruction, which can be completed through online courses or in-person classes, along with 100 hours of supervised clinical training at a local Skilled Nursing Facility. Small class sizes and expert instructors ensure that students receive personalized, hands-on guidance to build their skills and confidence. Designed to be both intensive and thorough, the program prepares students to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
In Chino, our training includes a combination of lectures, instructional videos, role-playing activities, and hands-on skill practice, covering essential tasks like personal hygiene assistance, dressing, and vital sign measurement. Additionally, we incorporate career development support, including resume building and interview preparation, to help students transition smoothly into the workforce. Upon completing the NAT Program, students are eligible to take the California Nurse Assistant State Exam and earn their CNA certification.
