Los Angeles Skills Academy CNA Training: Ontario

What is a CNA?
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are crucial in patient care, assisting with daily tasks and healthcare needs while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). CNAs are also recognized as Nursing Assistants, Patient Care Assistants (PCA), or Nurse’s Aides.
In Ontario, many aspiring healthcare professionals start as CNAs, using the experience as a pathway to becoming an LVN or RN. Some CNAs are already studying in nursing programs, gaining firsthand experience in the field, while others use the position to explore their interest in a long-term nursing career.
By becoming a CNA, you’ll provide meaningful support in healthcare while acquiring valuable, in-demand skills. Our structured training program, developed with insights from healthcare professionals and educators, is designed to help you build a strong foundation for a rewarding career in nursing.
Certified Nursing Assistant Program:
What is CNA Training?
LA Skills Academy’s Nurse Assistant Training (NAT) program, accredited by the California Department of Public Health, offers a structured pathway to becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. The program includes 60 hours of theoretical coursework, accessible through online or classroom-based instruction, as well as 100 hours of supervised clinical training at a Skilled Nursing Facility. With small class sizes and expert-led instruction, students receive the hands-on training necessary to develop essential caregiving skills. The curriculum is designed to be both rigorous and efficient, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to provide compassionate patient care.
Our Ontario training program integrates lectures, video-based learning, interactive role-playing, and practical skill demonstrations covering fundamental nursing tasks such as bathing, dressing, and monitoring vital signs. Additionally, students receive job readiness training, including resume development and interview techniques, to support their career success. After completing the NAT Program, graduates qualify to take the California Nurse Assistant State Exam and pursue certification as a CNA.
